Fredrick A. Zarazua Jr., M.A., LPC-Associate, NCC
Supervised by Dr. Rosemary Hernandez, PhD, LPC-S, NCC, CCMHC
Originally a native of San Antonio, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from
Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers!), and then went on to receive my Master’s degree in
Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. Mary’s University. I gained a wide variety of
experience in working with adolescents and teens in a school/athletic setting, to adults struggling
with life or career changes.
Seeing through a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) lens, my skill set is tailored to helping
people realize their own irrational thoughts/behaviors and utilizing guided discovery to help
challenge those beliefs. I also utilize Mindfulness and Solution-Focused techniques for those
struggling with issues from the “Here and Now” perspective. It is my goa to equip clients with
the mental tools they need in moments of self-doubt, stress, anxiety, or depression.
With sports being a passion of mine, I am thankful to have gained experienced in working with
adolescent and teen athletes in managing pre/in game stress or anxiety, thoughts of self doubt,
and balancing the life of a student-athlete. It is another one of my goals to help athletes achieve
their goals and eliminate mental roadblocks both on and off the playing surface.
In my down time I enjoy going to the gym, catching a movie at the theater, and traveling to
attend sporting events. Thank you for taking the time to get to know a little about me, and I look
forward to working with you on achieving your mental health goals!
