Desaree Leal, LPC-Associate
Supervised by Dr. Rosemary Hernandez, PhD, LPC-S, NCC, CCMHC
I have a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology (2016) and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice (2005) from Texas A&M International University. I am currently working towards full licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor and I'm under the supervision of Dr. Rosemary Hernandez. I am available for video sessions and located in Laredo, Texas.
I have worked in an educational setting for more than 10 years. I am a former high school teacher and Juvenile Probation Officer, and have experience with adolescents in different capacities. I have trained and worked with adolescents and adults dealing with trauma, anxiety, bullying, and emotional problems.
I am committed to providing an environment where clients feel welcomed as we walk through this journey of healing. I utilize a cognitive behavioral therapy approach and focus on shifting our unhelpful ways of thinking. I understand everyone has a story, and there is something to be learned from it.
On my free time I love to bake, watch Christmas movies year-round, and spend time with my family.
