Ashley G. Casas Pineda, LPC - Associate, NCC
Supervised by Dr. Rosemary Hernandez, PhD, LPC, LPC-S, NCC, CCMHC
Ashley received her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. Mary’s University in 2019 and has a wide variety of experiences working with children, adolescents, and adults in school, college, and community settings.
Ashley is passionate in helping clients build all the tools necessary to assist them in focusing in the here and the now. In a world full of negativity and ongoing chaos, it can be hard to see things differently. Ashley believes that change happens when the narrative is restructured with positive thinking and encouragement. Counseling sessions will focus on the client’s abilities to identify and explore their emotions and thoughts and how that can affect their daily life. This form of therapy is called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Ashley is also working towards her Registered Play Therapy (RPT) certification under the supervision of Dr. Christina Villarreal-Davis, Ph.D., LPC-S, RPT-S, NCC.
Ashley also has experience as a school-based counselor where she has worked with children as young as 3 years old up to 13 years old. Helping them build healthy coping skills to utilize inside and outside of school for issues such as trauma, loss, grief, family challenges, relational issues, abuse, bullying, life transitions, emotional problems, and overall school related issues.
Ashley has also had experience working as a College and Career counselor. With 6 years of experience, she has worked with high school students transitioning into college, into the workforce, and military. As well as active college students seeking career advice, internship opportunities, work experiences, and/or general assistance transitioning into the workforce.
